Research on the recycling of used lithium-ion batteries primarily focuses on recovering high-value precious metals—specifically cobalt and lithium—from the cathode. The final products include graphite powder, lithium aluminum cobalt oxide, and copper.

There are many recyclable components in used lithium-ion batteries, including approximately 15% cobalt, 14% copper, 25% iron, 4.7% aluminum, and 0.1% lithium. These metals are primary resources and have significant recycling value.

Process Flow
Shredder: Used to initially crush lithium-ion batteries into small pieces.
Crusher: Used for secondary crushing of the material.
Grinder: Used to grind the material.
Sorter: Used to sort the material after grinding.
Collector: Collects and releases dust.
Pulse Cleaner (Air Purifier): Removes all dust generated during the operation of the entire system.
Classification Screen: Screens the material sorted by the sorter to remove larger metal particles.
Magnetic Separator: Separates nickel from the metal.
Gravity Separator: Sorts the finer material obtained from the screening process to completely separate the metal.
High-Pressure Blower: Maintains a negative pressure environment throughout the system to collect material and purify the air.
